Footprints in the Sand

I was walking along the beach with my Lord.9 Q. T# w# i1 x; d/ q, H
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
0 ^) R: H! R9 Z; a- x; SFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,) p! O" P7 }  n
one belonging to me
+ Z1 ~" o% n! b& W: Jand the other to my Lord./ U8 {* g* R% G$ K9 H
When the last scene of my life shot before me
. E. ^4 B4 ]6 a) d$ o: c0 nI looked back at the footprints in the sand.5 ?6 {* g( T* N
There was only on set of footprints.
0 F9 ?8 D4 b: k; ?, y! j$ f& cI realized that this was at the lowest
7 z4 h9 O4 v( |7 D+ R' n- }and saddest times in my life.: ^5 e1 i! d  h& L0 }! o7 }3 N
This always bothered me
% r( F7 E) o" f8 u( iand I questioned the Lord
: `( ~, G; v5 O/ N; k% babout my dilemma.  I6 `6 u: N4 j; M
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,5 k" q0 L; {3 y9 r) p' z6 X$ s, h& }
You would walk and talk with me all the way.0 _7 h' c0 O3 Q. K( h5 `; F
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome 0 o8 ~# _* O! u7 X9 B
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.  F: e* l, x) c0 @5 Y
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
+ j# H) o0 L, |5 vyou leave me."& l# g) G0 j+ K, f; Y+ Y8 |
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,: c6 x1 b- N" e% V7 U* z9 f
I love you and will never leave you

When you saw only one set of footprints
