Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream& b2 c+ \! |- _: X5 B  U
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.5 q& D6 ]% n8 v# i+ [
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
% T$ U, L( {4 z5 ]3 sFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
  T2 m6 t3 N$ Y3 x! z# }one belonging to me
" i: p* a% U1 {% L, }- Z) X; Qand the other to my Lord.
0 x3 p; u; q; n! @/ jWhen the last scene of my life shot before me6 F8 n$ z8 N* R; j( C: N
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
) \& z/ U$ O# K4 H  hThere was only on set of footprints.- W) A$ m& b, z8 `& w( e8 T3 N
I realized that this was at the lowest
2 {: ~5 H1 q' i8 H% [and saddest times in my life.# ^4 m, t4 V( t
This always bothered me
: k/ T/ l/ L6 X" k- k" [: g. V  x0 ~and I questioned the Lord
6 M6 c- L4 v# ?9 T- a; Xabout my dilemma.
; D2 V6 t$ q" Z( {. O"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,& ]8 H5 x3 S6 S" z
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
. Z0 Z. H5 s* f8 Z: m9 M! \9 KBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
5 _3 R/ j) I/ `8 ~times of my life there is only one set of footprints.- n6 O0 C9 O- `4 N* i( a
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, , `/ N0 q0 P) K$ Y
you leave me."" k0 L0 y! j7 ?! r
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,; ^' t0 ]' P6 F. P, b
I love you and will never leave you

It was then that I carried you."
