Lord, 1 e( f% A% q. W6 V9 T2 g7 b( Y y
having transformed4 q; l, \& z1 ^8 M7 G9 {: ]
sunshine and soil and water and seed,$ Y: E! a9 l/ l0 A
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
7 a) [3 m3 n" D' Jwe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
P7 W2 ?/ K# a8 `+ T2 F8 v* qso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
% z6 x5 ^0 h3 {+ _We who came first and are ready to dine
. a" E: R: B5 v8 Q% fthank you that we’re not still waiting in line, . Z( j# j& b) }
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
) r/ O% p( {+ Uwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
+ _5 y. G, @# @/ [3 ~Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others - D( I L* {/ t7 d8 w# l" x% O
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.5 t% Z; c5 L) _8 O, n& E5 p; [: u) ^

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
' E. q! x( _. l1 o I1 cthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
