In 2007, as part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Dr. Trevor Lewis was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, shared with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, in recognition of efforts to provide information on climate change and what can be done to counteract it. Lewis, a third-generation soldier (member) of The Salvation Army, is an active member of his local Salvation Army church, Victoria Citadel in British Columbia.
