Lord,
* x( D# g, m( M* N6 B7 W whaving transformed
S( U% O& C1 Y& q! N/ s9 Ssunshine and soil and water and seed,
% p0 J& C* J. o- J$ z: Ainto food upon which we are soon to feed, ) y( e2 p. r w/ \, i. w s* m. t. l$ u
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
, q# u+ ]: b5 _7 Oso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.+ L5 K& V/ M @& h, W
We who came first and are ready to dine) | X* E- }0 i1 V: c
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, 2 G8 g. B( ^( ]2 [
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
/ h6 W6 Y0 z4 n6 J. z( zwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
. q, F1 z$ Y7 _4 W. a2 Z. G8 ]7 t* kInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others * X. ]3 v3 E! S4 {( ~! x
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.: c' X7 ?7 j! ^3 P# Q5 g

the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted + I- `+ Q% N) E: l0 w* `
