Footprints in the Sand

4 o( u* d, k5 H/ v2 K/ mOne night I had a dream6 D& _4 Y2 m# m& ]( o( O
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
' c; ^/ {5 ~; B! }7 H7 HAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
% c3 Z0 B/ z% y) q1 {6 v- yFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,3 K! v6 C. j6 U" _) g, l4 Z
one belonging to me; D; i* z3 c0 V. C' c" |* O, H
and the other to my Lord.
, ?8 D" q6 L) q5 V% E+ A; m0 \# ]When the last scene of my life shot before me
1 U! L( T3 }" w. v# m/ qI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
! ?8 V- F7 |9 t. C1 t6 {There was only on set of footprints.
% ?' i- ^( k  N, J: l8 p8 dI realized that this was at the lowest
1 L. }8 \0 ^8 m' P7 yand saddest times in my life.% g" l8 w% ?: ]; {' B( b8 p! p
This always bothered me
, ^2 V3 x0 @, k" d) S( {2 Wand I questioned the Lord: @) [: P, i5 d9 ~/ v& n& P
about my dilemma.
1 \+ H. `: K5 s8 W1 M"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,- z  a% n! }/ l  i
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
/ u% @* {( Y! g6 [But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
7 W1 X  T( ]7 j" Qtimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.4 h2 d' Z6 P7 Q4 B1 b, i
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, 9 f2 |8 }9 Q1 h! [7 q" L
you leave me."

When you saw only one set of footprints
