Kings Tax 250-590-7511  ken@kingstax.com
如果以下发生变化需要及时跟加拿大税务局联系:
When should you contact the CRA about your CCTB
1.You have changed your address
2.The number of children in your care changes
3.Your marital status has changed
4.You want to start, change or end Direct Deposit
5.A CCTB recipient has died
6.You or your spouse or common-law partner is no longer a resident of Canada
7.Personal info on your CCTB notice is incorrect

1. You have changed your address
If you move, be sure to let us know. Otherwise, your payments may stop, even if you use direct deposit and your bank account doesn't change. See How to change your address.

2. The number of children in your care changes

a) You have a newborn child or a child starts to live with you

If you have a newborn child or a child starts to live with you, you will need to apply for the CCTB for that child.  Complete Form RC66, Canada Child Benefits Application or apply online on My Account by using the Apply for child benefits service.

b) A child for whom you are receiving the benefit is no longer in your care

Let us know as soon as possible if a child for whom you are receiving the CCTB is no longer in your care, stops living with you, or dies. Use “End care of child” on My Account to avoid getting overpaid and receiving a request to pay some of your benefits back.

3. Your marital status has changed
If your marital status has changed, you must inform the CRA of your new status and the date of the change by the end of the month following the month in which your status changes. You can do this by calling 1-800-387-1193, completing and sending form RC65, Marital Status Change or by using “Change my marital status” on My Account on the CRA Web site. You may also provide the information by sending a letter to the tax centre that serves your area. Be sure your letter includes the date (day, month and year) of the marital status change, your name and social insurance number, along with your spouse or common-law partner’s name and social insurance number (if applicable).

a) You are now married or living common-law

We will recalculate your benefit based on the number of children you have and their ages, your province or territory of residence, and your family net income.

If you or your new spouse or common-law partner has children who are residing with you, we will move all the children to the female parent's account. If you are married or living common law with a person of the same sex, one of you will receive the CCTB for all the children.

To continue receiving the CCTB, you and your spouse or common-law partner have to file a return every year, even if you have not received income in the year.

b) You are now separated, widowed or divorced

We will recalculate your benefit based on the number of children you have and their ages, your province or territory of residence, and your net income.

Note: You are separated if you have been living apart from your spouse or common-law partner for 90 consecutive days or more because of a breakdown in your relationship, and you have not reconciled. Do not advise us of your separation until you have been separated for more than 90 consecutive days.

4. You want to start, change, or end Direct Deposit
Please see the Direct deposit page.

5. A CCTB recipient has died
If a CCTB recipient dies, the next of kin or the estate should inform us in writing. Someone else may be eligible to get benefits for the child.

Send a letter to the tax centre that serves your area.

6. You or your spouse or common-law partner's immigration or residency status has changed
If this is the case, please contact us

7. Personal info on your CCTB notice is incorrect
Your CCTB notice shows you how we calculate your CCTB payment. If there is an error in the information used to calculate your payment on your notice, then the amount of your payment may be wrong too.
