The WorkLink Employment Society is seeking a full time, full charge
Bookkeeper to manage the organization’s financial operations.  This ongoing
position reports directly to the Executive Director. The successful candidate
will be an individual with a background in not-for-profit financial
accounting with an emphasis on Government funding.  It is important that the
candidate have experience with multiple project accounting using ACCPAC for
Windows.  Keeping to specific funders financial requirements and multiple
deadlines is imperative.  The Bookkeeper performs all daily and monthly
bookkeeping and payroll functions up to year-end trial balance.
Salary Range: $20.00/hr; 37.5 hr/wk.
Duties : Duties will include:
C       Financial management and reporting in an environment of multiple
projects
C       Bookkeeping, filing and related clerical tasks as needed;
C       Payroll for up to 40 employees
C       Preparation of, and advising on, budgets, and cash flow ;
C       Preparation of timely funder reports, Board reports and reports to
Management;
C       Some human resource functions as it pertains to payroll requirements
and benefit administration.
Bookkeeping and Related Skills and Experience
          o 5+ years relevant employment experience;
          o Knowledge and experience working in non-profit accounting;
          o Demonstrated proficiency using ACCPAC software;
          o Demonstrated computer proficiency, including familiarity with
Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Outlook; and
          o Strong written and oral communication skills.
          o Keeps confidences.
Personal
          o Positive attitude. willing to take responsibility; ability to
accomplish tasks on time and commitment to accurate, detailed work.

Specific Duties
          o Bank Reconciliation
          o Trial Balance
          o General Ledger
          o A/P duties
          o Government Remittances
          o Payroll Reporting
          o Produce multiple monthly Financial Statements for individual
funders and for the Board of Directors
Includes the following:
          o Transferring data from invoices
          o Generate, payroll, invoices, and accounts payable items
          o Monthly reconciliation of bank statements, journal entries, etc.
          o Handle various aspects of cheque writing and ledger, general
ledger, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting
and other reporting functions.
          o Reconcile accounts and transfer between various entities.
          o Work directly with management.
          o Keep complete, up-to-date, and accurate records of accounts and
financial arrangements.
          o Verify and enter information into journals and into a computer.
          o Balance the books and compile reports and financial statements on
a monthly basis
          o Receive, record, bank and pay out cash.
          o Balance computer accounting with monthly bank statements.
          o Calculate employee wages from records and issue payroll checks.
