I was walking along the beach with my Lord.0 R* x9 @9 D% |- O* r: }
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.8 J* a, g5 ?6 K$ i' N2 b
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
- [& ~, W8 O2 D+ C( L0 s7 _one belonging to me
- x$ L0 r7 ?6 r& U. _5 u7 gand the other to my Lord.
7 _$ O# ^  z/ F6 oWhen the last scene of my life shot before me' [2 [. _& W5 M( v; p- a, z- Y
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.% q3 s' o6 ]; m
There was only on set of footprints.9 c! p$ r* T: |. }
I realized that this was at the lowest ) S( W  {8 Z+ t( T) w
and saddest times in my life.3 {& G3 ^4 S" M+ Z( S8 ?0 E/ t) u+ O
This always bothered me
- c8 Y* l/ @; V! Tand I questioned the Lord
/ w  P+ ]9 g+ K: B* g' Xabout my dilemma.
6 U+ r& l( ]/ G" G" N"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
9 ~  f' I( U  V& c. T) NYou would walk and talk with me all the way.3 D4 r7 `0 c( t0 ~: j
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
  I( M3 Z' n+ J5 v# Wtimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
' y1 n* k7 o' Z8 ~# j' SI don't understand why, when I needed You most,   x1 S! A9 _" o* U
you leave me."; g7 u# X2 `3 w, s) M
