Lord, " {) `( r! Q/ X/ f7 n
having transformed+ @$ u9 I* Z. t3 ~
sunshine and soil and water and seed,# i$ r8 P& d8 r4 E3 W; I/ d
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
' \+ a( a8 e$ K) m4 M/ E5 X- ^we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
- g6 Y/ k; @/ D+ A2 X, D; R- yso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.0 b$ ` F$ n& C x/ h
We who came first and are ready to dine
) G) X5 T2 m9 x# G4 L" n! O5 Lthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
2 d* Y( {# S$ A$ ]but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
+ T) R7 L/ e- l4 n4 F- ^we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.3 P; u: A! N& b% _& O
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
4 p+ Z0 R& u6 @$ u3 Mthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.! E J' C9 J0 ?; ~0 ^8 h1 t

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 9 \, O3 |: x3 M+ P3 Y
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted " C' R& M; M, l* @) i# H
We thank you for people so generous and kind
/ t4 Y" t% l7 C2 nand thanks for all blessings in body and mind,
