having transformed- V8 r1 `5 A4 j% z/ v. V9 p3 S
sunshine and soil and water and seed,/ E$ |( R- r/ \- I( a
into food upon which we are soon to feed, ! e. Z9 ~ ^ W8 p V4 v
we thank you for life and we want to stay well, - W' D9 z& i& V! b
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.& b6 p7 b) e1 ?, D1 b8 O6 ]% V
We who came first and are ready to dine/ Q& {; m6 k! X6 _! {6 m, @
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
$ O1 t4 [) X) X0 m2 i# [+ Cbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
* {2 s) u9 s& d/ u) n& ?we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
+ ~3 f$ j K1 U/ zInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
' ~- A/ _0 V2 I+ K$ X- q8 dthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.
