Footprints in the Sand

" O- M: }7 q& |& uOne night I had a dream
  U: C3 B* z8 N7 j7 XI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
/ {) U8 A4 W1 \. oAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
7 b" B+ R, D8 n& I8 z; Y' {For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,3 C# W" Q, f6 V3 \% H
one belonging to me/ n, h2 Y6 P- y+ B+ ~* _! o
and the other to my Lord.
' f, V1 K8 u* _When the last scene of my life shot before me
7 F4 N; R; n; W6 X. g9 N6 P. aI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
) ?3 Q( {4 C2 V8 yThere was only on set of footprints.
+ ^% o. {$ [6 w8 P1 x6 T6 hI realized that this was at the lowest 0 h' b! s) L/ u
and saddest times in my life.7 _5 a! v& e' _4 t4 o
This always bothered me
, O: _; u( v# \( xand I questioned the Lord) ?4 O7 Y) p$ H
about my dilemma.  w9 [, S5 A8 \3 s
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
# j- G3 A1 K, }0 u- o8 EYou would walk and talk with me all the way.& n% }) {5 d1 ], f# J4 I) ]
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome + Y# N5 b: _% k7 n
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.8 V8 y) J0 o8 P- ]4 c; O
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
* v$ J  _3 U+ t' h6 gyou leave me."
, C3 m" t" u! GHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
& ?$ _2 W* p7 @' U3 KI love you and will never leave you
7 v) N% ]1 S5 L' U1 N8 wnever, ever during your times of trial and testings.

It was then that I carried you."
