My dad is flying from Victoria--Vancouver--Shanghai by Air Canada on Mar. 10. He can speak Manderin but not English. I try to find a companion for him. Air Canada often has Mandarin speaking flight attendants on board.  You can contact Air Canada to request assistance.  If you are worried, you can make up some small cards with essential phrases in both Chinese and English for your dad.  Good luck and safe journey for your Dad.
